( 2 Votes ) Former Ohio State quarterback Greg Frey said the following of Logan High School quarterback and YSU commit Patrick Angle, "in my opinion, the best quarterback in the State of Ohio, period." Angle has received pretty high praise from just about everyone that talks about him. In the OHSFCA North vs. South Game, Angle threw for 115 yards and a touchdown on 7 of 12 passing; much better than his teammate, Verlon Reed, a QB recruit heading to Ohio State. Reed went just 1 of 7 passing for 10 yards and rushed for 45 yards on 5 carries. However, due to Reed's running ability, he was awarded the MVP of the game over Angle.

Here are highlights from Week 11 of this past season in the OHSAA Playoffs as Logan took on Canal Winchester on Sportstime Ohio:

This kid looks excellent. Give him some time to learn our system and there is no doubt he'll be a starter here very soon. Would not at all be surprised if he wins the #2 job heading into Happy Valley.

This kid is better than GOOD. I love Jim Tressel, but he messed up by not recruiting this kid. He see's the field, can get through his progressions quick, is accurate and has a quick release. I have looked at the tapes of other top QB's in Ohio and this kid has it all. He isnt a running QB although he isnt that slow and usually gains positive yardage. It is his maturity, his ability to move around in the pocket under pressure and deliver an accurate pass. This guy is gonna come back and haunt every MAC school and BIG TEN school in 3 years! Mark my words. There is something wrong with Ohio recruiting. We have seen several good QB's go to MAC schools and then have great careers in the NFL. Ohio University are fools for not grabbing this kid. However, they never recruit in Logan although it has turned out some high calibur players. This kid is the truth..I hope Tressel would grab him if he decides to go to big school after his sophmore year. This kid is the Truth! His career will be better than that of the new OSU QB who is suppose to be the best in the country. He may have more yards running, but this kid had like 3 rcvrs w/ 10+ TD's! I am mlooking forward to seeing him play and hopefully he will get some time during his first year!
